While medical treatments for acne are available in abundance, they may prove to be expensive and may even cause the break out to become severe. However, with home remedies such as the following, you would not need to worry about any side effects on your skin while treating acne.
Honey and cinnamon mask
Honey is used in many natural products and cinnamon has its own set of benefits. Both being rich in antioxidants, they create a powerful combination, which helps you get rid of acne. To make this mask, make a paste with two tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon. Once the skin is cleansed, you may apply this mask and keep it for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash before patting the skin dry.
Apple cider vinegar
To use this remedy, mix one part of apple cider vinegar with three parts of water. Once the skin is cleansed, you may apply the mixture to exfoliate your skin well. You may let this remain for 15 to 20 seconds and repeat the process one to two times per day. The reason that this remedy works is because some of the virus and bacteria may easily be killed by apple cider vinegar, presumably the Cutibacterium acne (previously known as Propionibacterium acne) too, thanks to the organic acids that this vinegar contains.
Green tea
As green tea is really high in antioxidants, you may use this to apply on your skin for getting rid of acne. Start by steeping the green tea bag in boiling water and keep it dipped for three to four minutes. Post this, give time for the tea to cool down before applying it on the skin with a cotton swab. This will help you to reduce the acne considerably.
Zinc supplements
Some research indicates that the lack of zinc may be causing a breakout of acne on your skin. It was noticed that people who had a clear skin had higher levels of zinc as compared to people with acne breakout. A safe limit for consumption of zinc is capped at 40 milligrams per day. Hence, you may find out if you are suffering from zinc deficiency and take oral supplements in order to get rid of this problem.
Tea tree oil
As tea tree oil is very potent, ensure that you dilute it and apply it properly on your skin. In fact, while making this concoction, mix one part of tea tree oil with nine parts of water to get the right consistency. Use a simple cotton swab to apply the paste to the acne breakouts. You may repeat this process once or twice a day for better results.
